Arsenal custodian Petr Cech believes that the battle for the Premier League title this season will go down to the wire with all the top teams giving their best every weekend.

The 2015/16 term didn't go right to the end as Leicester City were crowned champions with two games still remaining in the season. The two other title challengers, Tottenham and Arsenal, fell away during the final month of the campaign.

However, the 2016/17 season has started on an ultra competitive note with only a point separating the top five teams after nine games.

According to the veteran goalkeeper, the title race is going to be interesting this season with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and even Manchester United in the running.

And therefore Cech believes that the fate of the Premier League will not be decided until the final whistle is blown in the very last match of the season.

"Liverpool [are title contenders], even Man United, although now they are a little bit behind, it is a long season and it's only a few points", Cech was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"[Also] Manchester City, Tottenham, us, Chelsea – we are all there and everybody wants to win.

"You can see how much people put in the effort every weekend to get the points on board, and I think they will all be fighting until the last minute for the title.

"It's going to be exciting for the fans and obviously we want to have it exciting for us as well and we want to win it.

"[The season] has started, pretty much, as very exciting for everyone. After 10 games you have five teams with a one point difference and I think that will be the trend.

"I think it will go to the last games for the decision [as to] who will be the champions. We are equipped, we are in a good shape and I hope we can prove it on the pitch."
