Rangers striker Joe Garner has revealed that if given a chance, he would like to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, the home ground of Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old, who joined Rangers from Championship outfit Preston North End on a three-year deal in the summer, has thus far made eight appearances in all competitions for his new employers, scoring twice.

Garner scored the equaliser for the Gers in their 1-1 draw with St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

And the forward insisted that as he already has experience of playing at Wembley, he would like to perform at the Santiago Bernabeu if he was given a chance to play in any stadium in the world.

“I would have said Wembley, but I have played there”, he told Rangers TV, when asked if he could play in any stadium, where it would be.

“So I would say probably the Bernabeu.”

Should Rangers qualify for the Champions League in future, Garner could yet get his wish and make his Bernabeu bow.

Garner, who is a product of Blackburn Rovers’ youth system, also counts Carlisle United, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town and Watford amongst his former employers.

He has also represented England up to Under-19 level.
