Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has insisted that he is not thinking about a return to PSV Eindhoven in January and wants to concentrate on getting fit as soon as possible.

The Dutch midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at the Philips Stadion and played an important role with 16 appearances and eight goals to his name.

However, Van Ginkel is recovering from a serious knee injury and only returned to action earlier this week when he turned out for Chelsea Under-23s in a Premier League 2 clash.

There has been speculation that Van Ginkel could opt for another loan move in January as he is not expected to play a major role in Antonio Conte’s squad and PSV are again been tipped to be his possible destination.

However, the Dutchman claims that he is only worried about getting back to full fitness at the moment and is not aware of any talks on a loan move to the Eredivisie outfit in January.

Asked about a possible move to PSV in January, Van Ginkel told Voetbal International: “Whether that’s on the agenda, I don’t know.

“PSV have quite a lot of midfielders at the moment and at the moment I am not thinking about the winter window. I first want to be completely fit again.

“Of course I would be lying that I have forgotten about it; it was a great half-a-season for me and PSV.”

When asked whether he is still in touch with [PSV sporting director] Marcel Brands, the midfielder said: “Sure, but it doesn’t mean that I will return to PSV.”

Van Ginkel has a contract until 2018 with Chelsea and has made just four senior appearances for the club thus far.
