Celtic will head to Dubai in early January to hold a training camp ahead of the second half of the season, it has been revealed.

Bhoys CEO Peter Lawwell was recently in Dubai, where he held talks with Al Wasl board member Waleed Al Shaibani, watching a club training session and being given a tour of the club's facilities by coach Rodolfo Arrubarrena.

While Al Wasl have not confirmed the purpose of Lawwell's visit, according to the Gulf News, Celtic have agreed to head to Dubai for a mid-season training camp, when the winter break in Scotland kicks in.

Celtic sit top of the Scottish Premiership at present with a ten-point lead over second placed Aberdeen, while they also have a game in hand, putting them in a commanding position.

The Bhoys will be aiming to use their mid-season break to Dubai's warm weather to prepare well for the second half of a season during which they will hope to still be involved in Europe.
