Manchester United loanee Adnan Januzaj has professed his love for his former employers Anderlecht.

The Belgium international spent six years in Anderlecht’s academy before Manchester United swooped in for him in March 2011.

However, the 21-year-old revealed that he has always loved Anderlecht due to their style of play and their prestigious stature back in Belgium.

"I thought it was cool – I've always loved Anderlecht”, he was quoted as saying by Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant.

“[It’s because of] the brand of football they played there and the prestige of the club.”

Januzaj made a bright start to his senior Manchester United career under then Red Devils boss David Moyes in the 2013/14 campaign, where he scored four goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

The following season his role was limited under Louis van Gaal, who sent him out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2015.

Janizaj’s stay in Germany proved to be short-lived as he was recalled by Manchester United in January due to his lack of playing time at Dortmund.

The youngster, who is currently on a season-long loan deal to Sunderland, has thus far made eight appearances for the Black Cats, scoring once.
