Lyon are keeping a close watch on Chelsea loanee Bertrand Traore’s performances at Ajax with a view to making a future move for his services.

The 21-year-old attacker joined the Chelsea academy from Auxerre in 2013 and along with impressing in the youth teams he also had a loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem.

Traore made ten Premier League appearances last season, scoring two goals, but Chelsea decided to loan him out to Ajax in the summer in order to provide him with regular first team football.

The Burkina Faso international has been playing regular football at the Amsterdam ArenA and has scored four goals and provided as many assists in 17 appearances this season.

However, it seems another club have their eyes set on the African as, according to Fichajes, Lyon are keeping close tabs on his performances with the Dutch giants.

Traore is not slated to return to Chelsea before the summer and Ajax are also unlikely to push him out of the club during the January transfer window as he has been playing regular football.

It seems the earliest Lyon could get their hands on him is at the end of the season, but that hasn’t deterred the French club from keeping an eye on the forward in the Netherlands.

His current contract with Chelsea last until the summer of 2019.
