KRC Genk winger Leon Bailey has insisted that he would require guarantees about his playing time even if Manchester United come calling for him in the future.

The 19-year-old Jamaican winger has been raising eyebrows with his performances in the Belgian top tier and has attracted the attention of a few big wigs in Europe.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be tracking his progress in Belgium with a view to making a move for him in the near future, but Bailey has made it clear that he won’t move to a big club just to warm the bench.

The youngster stressed that even if Manchester United knock on his door for a transfer, the English giants would have to provide guarantees about his playing time before a deal could be done.

When asked what he would do if Manchester United come calling for him in the future, Bailey told Belgian daily Nieuwsblad: “Then we will see what they have to offer.

“My own career comes first and I need certain guarantees; if I am fit, I have to play.”

Asked if he fears that he won’t get those guarantees, the winger said: “That should be part of the negotiations.

"I am not going to another club to languish on the bench.”

Bailey has scored eight goals and provided the same number of assists in 25 appearances for Genk this season in all competitions.
