Celtic youngster Callum McGregor has revealed that he can tick playing a “big” European game at Paradise off his list after featuring in the 2-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Hoops, who needed to claim a positive result against Barcelona to have any chance of finishing third in the group and continuing their European adventure via the Europa League, fell behind in the 25th minute after Lionel Messi put the ball into the back of the net.

The talismanic Argentine then scored from the spot after the break to hand Barcelona the win and end Celtic’s participation in Europe this season in the process.

And McGregor, who was delighted to fulfil his wish of playing a “big” European game at Celtic Park, explained that his side should learn as much as possible from their defeat against the Spanish giants.

“It was great, obviously you want to play in the big, big games at Celtic Park on European nights”, he told Celtic TV, when asked for his reaction after the game.
