Chelsea are willing to offer over €45m for Alessio Romagnoli in January, but AC Milan are in no mood to sell the defender in the winter transfer window.

The Blues, who presently find themselves a point clear at the top of the Premier League table, was heavily linked with the 21-year-old during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea even slapped in an offer of €35m for Romagnoli in the summer, only to see it knocked back by AC Milan.

Although the Premier League outfit have retained their interest in the youngster and are ready to cough up over €45m for him, the Rossoneri are set to any and all approaches, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

Romagnoli, who is currently sidelined with an injury, is considered a vital player by AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella.

As such, the Rossoneri have slammed the door on letting him go in the winter transfer window.

The centre-back has thus far made 11 Serie A appearances this season, helping the Italian giants to keep five clean sheets.

Romagnoli, who is contracted with AC Milan until 2020, has four caps for Italy to his name.
