Leeds United have been linked with a winter transfer window swoop for Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu.

Whites boss Garry Monk is thought to be eyeing improving his attacking options for the second half of the campaign as he bids to make sure the Yorkshire giants remain in the promotion hunt in the Championship.

And according to Radio Yorkshire, talk is doing the rounds that Austrian striker Nuhiu is on Monk's radar as a potential addition.

The 27-year-old currently turns out for another Yorkshire side in the shape of Sheffield Wednesday, but has struggled for playing time with the Owls this term.

He has had to make do with appearances from the bench and as a result has not yet hit the back of the net in ten games for the club in the current campaign.

It remains to be seen whether Nuhiu would be open to a move to Elland Road and Wednesday willing to let him leave, especially as it would strengthen rivals for promotion.

In total Nuhiu has made 150 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday, scoring 24 goals.

He joined the Owls from Rapid Vienna in 2013.
