Manchester United sent scouts to watch target Victor Lindelof in action during Benfica’s 3-0 win over Moreirense in the league on Sunday, while Arsenal and Chelsea were also represented in the stands, according to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo.

The Red Devils have been linked with making a move for the Benfica defender in January as manager Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen his central defensive options for the second half of the current campaign.




It has been also claimed that Manchester United have already contacted Benfica over the possibility of signing Lindelof, whose buy-out clause is soon set to be increased to €60m from €30m.

The 22-year-old, who is also on the radar of Aston Villa, is contracted with Benfica until 2020.
 


Lindelof has heavily featured for Benfica in the present campaign, with the Swede thus far making 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
