Leeds United head coach Garry Monk agrees that a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool is the ultimate test in English football at present, but he is looking forward to the challenge.

The Reds are flying in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp this season, sitting second in the table, and in the top flight have scored 19 goals in their six games at Anfield so far.

Klopp's men are increasingly being tipped as potential champions and though the Liverpool boss is expected to make changes for Leeds' visit, Monk still agrees that at the moment tests get no tougher than the Reds at Anfield.

Asked if Liverpool at Anfield is the ultimate test now, Monk told LUTV: "Yes [it’s the ultimate test], but I think it's a good test.

"It's always a great challenge for us as a group, the staff, the players", he continued.

"We have a very young group so no matter what happens it will be a great experience for them.

"You have to go there with the right mentality, the right mindset and I think this group have that.

"We will go there and look to put our game on the pitch and it's a cup competition so anything can happen", Monk added.

Leeds will be facing a Liverpool side missing key attacking players with Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana all out injured.

The Whites have seen off Fleetwood Town, Luton Town, Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City to reach the quarter-final stage in the EFL Cup.
