Celtic captain Scott Brown admits that he is enjoying his football this season after a long time in his career and is feeling privileged to be part of a special group of people at the club.

The Scotland midfielder captained Celtic to their 16th Scottish League Cup trophy on Sunday when his side put on commanding display to swat aside Aberdeen’s challenge in the final, winning 3-0.

It was the 100th major honour in the club’s history and Brown admits that he is feeling fantastic to lead such a talented side this season and work under a manager of Brendan Rodgers’ calibre.

“It’s fantastic”, the midfielder told Celtic View.

“It’s a great honour to be the captain of this club and it’s a great honour to be playing with these top-quality players, and to have a top-quality manager and backroom staff as well.

The midfielder, who went back on his decision to retire from international football recently, admits that he is enjoying his football after a long time in his career this season.

And Brown has credited Rodgers for creating an environment where Celtic have continued to succeed by playing a nice brand of football.

“I’m playing football with a smile on my face – probably the first time that I’ve done so in 15 years – but it’s been fantastic.

“It doesn’t matter about my own performances, it’s about success for this club and the gaffer’s done that."
