Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce says his side are quietly confident of returning home from Leeds United with all three points this Saturday.

Bruce has turned around Villa's fortunes since being appointed and the former European champions have won four of their last six Championship games to rise to eleventh spot in the table.

Leeds though have worked hard on turning Elland Road into a fortress and have lost at the ground just once in their last eight matches, against league leaders Newcastle United late last month.

Bruce feels his side head to Leeds in good shape and there is a confidence amongst his players in taking all three points.

"Anytime you go away from home and you can get some sort of result it sends out a message", Bruce said at his pre-match press conference.

"Our home form is rock solid.

"If we can go and produce a performance there – and we’re quietly confident that we’re capable of doing that – then yes [we can get a result].

"We’ve played well of late. Let’s hope we can keep it going", he added.

Leeds and Villa have not met since 2004, with Villa winning the last encounter 2-0 at home.

Elland Road last saw the two lock horns in a Premier League game in 2003, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
