Youssouf Mulumbu believes it is possible he could leave Norwich City when the winter transfer window opens, however he stressed that his participation in the African Cup of Nations could complicate matters.

The 29-year-old midfielder had been tipped to leave Carrow Road following Norwich's relegation from the Premier League at the end of last term and talks were held with a number of clubs, notably Marseille.

But Mulumbu stayed put as discussions did not lead to a transfer. Now the former West Brom star is focusing on helping Norwich bounce back, though he could still move in January.

"It is possible", he told French outlet Foot Mercato when asked if he could move in the winter window.

"But it depends on the club", he continued.

"It's going to be tough with the African Cup of Nations.

"I have already discussed with some clubs, but there is nothing concrete, even if it is flattering.

"It is like the summer, there have been many enquiries, talks. But in the end there was nothing.

"I am not in a hurry. I went back to work."

The experienced defensive midfielder sees his contract with Norwich run out next summer, meaning even if he does not move in January, he could still sign a pre-contractual agreement with another club.

Mulumbu has made eight appearances for the Canaries in the current campaign.
