Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the possibility of selling any of his first team players, including Daniel Sturridge, during the January transfer window.

The England striker has struggled to feature regularly in Klopp’s first eleven this season and has been linked with a move away from Anfield during the winter window.

Currently the forward is nursing an injury and was missing from Liverpool’s last two games in all competitions. But Klopp admits that he is more worried about when Sturridge will return to training rather than speculation surrounding his future.

The Liverpool boss insisted that he has no plans to part ways with any of his first team players during the January transfer window, including the 27-year-old England international.

When asked about the rumours surrounding the striker’s future, Klopp said in a press conference: “The funny thing is you create stories that aren’t stories, then you ask me about the stories that aren’t stories.

“There is absolutely no idea from my side to sell anybody from the first team squad, it wouldn’t make sense.

"Unfortunately Daniel is not in training. That’s what I’m most concerned about, more than transfer rumours.

“I’m prepared for January, what you [will] ask me [during the window] will be funny I’m sure.”

Sturridge has started just four Premier League games this season and is yet to register a league goal in any of his nine appearances.
