Former Leeds United midfielder, now Cambridge United manager, Shaun Derry, insists he is delighted at his side having drawn the Whites in the third round of the FA Cup.

League Two outfit Cambridge have been handed a home tie against Leeds in the third round and for Derry, drawing the Yorkshire giants is every bit as good as being paired with a top notch Premier League outfit.

Derry turned out for Leeds between 2005 and 2008 and is relishing trying to outwit Whites head coach Garry Monk, who has the club flying in fourth spot in the Championship table.

"Brilliant draw", he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"I couldn't be happier", he continued.

"To me it's as good as drawing a top Premier League club."

Derry, who kicked off his managerial career at Notts County, took over at Cambridge in November 2015.

Cambridge set themselves up to draw Leeds by demolishing Coventry City 4-0 at home in the previous round of the FA Cup.

And Derry will be hoping his League Two outfit can spring a surprise on Leeds when they visit the Abbey Stadium.
