Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in snapping up Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho during the January transfer window.

Galatasaray are expected to dip into their funds for fresh faces next month as they look to catch up with Istanbul Basaksehir at the top of the league table in the Turkish top tier.

Signing a defender in January remains on the top of their agenda and according to Turkish daily Fanatik, Sakho has emerged as one of the names the club are following at the moment.

The French defender has had a major fallout with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and has not played a single minute of senior football this season thus far.

He is widely believed to be on his way out of Anfield in January and Galatasaray are keen to pounce on the opportunity to sign the French defender in the winter window.

However, they are not the only ones in the queue as AC Milan have continued to keep their eyes peeled on developments surrounding Sakho and even Premier League strugglers Sunderland are interested in him.

Sakho joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 and has a contract until 2020 with the Reds.
