Alexandre Lacazette, who has been linked with being on Liverpool's winter window shortlist, has insisted that he won’t be thinking about his future at Lyon before next summer.

The French forward has been incessantly linked with a move away from Lyon over the last couple of years and the Ligue 1 club also publicly rejected big money offers from Arsenal and West Ham United last summer.

In recent months the subject of his long term future has again come under the scanner with Liverpool believed to be interested in him, but Lacazette is planning to wait until next summer before looking at his options.

The 25-year-old wants to concentrate on scoring goals for Lyon this season and will only look at his options beyond Lyon next summer if there are offers on the table.

When asked whether he will stay at Lyon until the end of his contract, the striker told French daily Le Progres: “I don’t know, I am just thinking about this season.

“In June we will see what is present or the offers, but for now I am completely with the team, playing, scoring and trying to break the records of club legends.

“Then next summer, we'll see.”

The striker also insisted that he understood the decision behind Lyon rejecting offers for him last summer, but indicated that things could be different next time around.

“In the summer there were some interesting offers, but the president, for the good of the club, said no and I understood it [his decision].

“It may be the opposite in the future and he may understand that an offer could be important for the club.

“I’m at Lyon and we’ll see in the summer, but for me staying here next year would not be a failure.”

The Frenchman has scored 12 goals in 15 appearances this season for Lyon and has a contract until 2019 with the club.
