Garry Monk admits that his Leeds United side are in for a massive test when they take on Brighton this Friday in a big Championship clash.

Leeds have been on a roll lately and other than defeats to Newcastle United, in the league, and Liverpool, in the EFL Cup, Monk’s team have looked a formidable outfit.

A win over Aston Villa last weekend lifted Leeds up to fourth in the Championship table, but ahead of them lie promotion contenders and second placed Brighton this Friday.

The Seagulls earned just a point from their trip to Cardiff City last weekend and will be looking to bounce back against Monk’s in form team at home this week.

And Monk is respectful of Brighton’s position in the league table and admits that it is going to be another stiff challenge for his side, who are looking to be amongst the playoff spots at the end of the season.

The Leeds boss told LUTV: "Brighton are where they are in the league for a reason.

"They have a lot of experience at this level and the AMEX is a very difficult place to go and each game for every club becomes harder and more important now.

"It will be another massive test for us, but one we want to see the team come through."

Leeds are seven points shy of Brighton in the league table and an away win on Friday would take them to third in the Championship.
