Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is unwilling to let Pau Lopez leave in January, despite receiving several offers from La Liga clubs for the services of the goalkeeper, according to Spanish daily Sport.

The 21-year-old, who joined Spurs from Espanyol on a season-long loan deal in the summer, is currently the third-choice custodian at White Hart Lane behind Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm.

Lopez is yet to make a senior appearance for Tottenham, but has played two times for the Under-23s in the Premier League 2.

Even though it is believed that Lopez is not going to make many appearances for the first team, if any, Spurs have a special training programme designed for him.

The north London club want Lopez to follow that programme and develop further as they consider the custodian a future first choice.

As a result, Pochettino has rebuffed every offer that has come Tottenham’s way from La Liga outfits interested in taking the goalkeeper back to his homeland.

Spurs have a €7m purchase option on Lopez after his loan spell expires at the end of the season.
