Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that defender Hector Bellerin could return to the squad for his side’s Premier League clash against Stoke City this Saturday.

The Spanish full-back has been out of action since last month due to an ankle injury and has missed Arsenal’s last six games in all competitions.

It seems Bellerin’s rehabilitation has been on course and Wenger admits that the Spaniard could be back in the squad for Stoke’s visit to the Emirates on Saturday, but will undergo another round of tests today before a decision is made.

He also added that there were no fresh setbacks from Arsenal’s win over Basel on Tuesday night.

The Arsenal boss said in a press conference: “From Tuesday night we have no injuries, and everybody seems to have recovered well.

“Coming back into the squad is [Francis] Coquelin, who was suspended, and maybe Bellerin; he will have team tests today.”

Danny Welbeck has been out of action since May due to a long term injury and has been recovering well, but Wenger says that he is still a few weeks away before joining the rest of the squad for training.

Asked about Welbeck’s recovery, the Frenchman said: "[He is] recovering well; of course [he is] a few weeks away from joining in again.”

Welbeck also missed most of the last season due to a knee injury and was just building momentum before suffering the fresh setback.
