Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale feels facing Leeds United has always been challenging no matter what their form has been.

Second in the Championship table, Brighton are one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League, something they came close to achieving last season too.

But on Friday they are up against a resurgent Leeds side who, apart from a bad first month of the season, have looked a different beast under Garry Monk in the Championship this term.

Fourth in the table at the moment, Leeds are coming into the AMEX tomorrow night with confidence and momentum behind them and Stockdale admits that playing the Whites has always been a challenge, even when they are not in form.

The goalkeeper told the club’s official website: “Leeds are a massive club and Garry Monk is doing a great job there as everyone knows.

“We know they are always hard games – even when we played Leeds last season and they weren’t doing as well, it was hard.

“Every team in this division is hard to play against; we’ll keep on taking it one game at a time and hopefully get the three points.”

Brighton played out a disappointing 0-0 draw last weekend against Cardiff City and are looking to get back to winning ways against Leeds on Friday night.

The Seagulls thrashed the Whites 4-0 the last time they visited the south coast club last season.
