Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has provided an update on his squad ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Pochettino's men head north looking to swell the six-point advantage they boast over Jose Mourinho's side in the league, as the race for a top four spot picks up pace going into the festive period.

Tottenham will still be without Erik Lamela, who is dealing with a family issue in his native Argentina, and Vincent Janssen. Pochettino confirmed that he will make a decision on defender Toby Alderweireld on Saturday, after he featured in the Champions League in midweek against CSKA Moscow.

"Erik Lamela and Vincent Janssen are still out, Ben Davies will be available again and then, no news", the Spurs boss told a press conference.

"After that, the players who were involved against CSKA at Wembley are available to be selected", he continued.

And on Alderweireld, Pochettino explained: "We need to decide to tomorrow if he is in good form to play 90 minutes but we are happy that after two months out he is back.

"It was good for him to feel competition again against CSKA for 25 minutes, it was fantastic for him and we’ll see", he added.

Spurs currently sit in fifth spot in the Premier League standings, with Manchester United in sixth and six points behind.

Pochettino's men have lost on their last two visits to Old Trafford, however in the last meeting between the two clubs, at White Hart Lane in April this year, Spurs ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over the Red Devils.
