Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has wished departing Under-23s boss Michael Beale all the best for his move to Brazil, but revealed he is not sure he would have taken up the challenge offered to the coach.

Beale is heading to Brazil to take up the assistant manager's job at Brazilian giants Sao Paulo, ending his spell at Liverpool as a result.

Klopp says he has enjoyed working with Beale at Anfield, while joking that he would not necessarily have opted to head to Brazil. The Liverpool manager also revealed that there is no news yet on a replacement for Beale.

"No news on a replacement. I wish him all the best", Klopp said at a press conference.

"It's a very interesting challenge. I'm not sure I would have done it", the German smiled.

"I like Brazil. I was never there, but maybe I should make a holiday there and not work.

"But he is a very serious person and I'm sure he thought about it. It's a big adventure for sure.

"He did a wonderful job here and we worked well together", Klopp added.

Beale will become assistant to Sao Paulo coach Rogerio Ceni, dipping his foot into the waters of the Brazilian game; the Sao Paulo job will be Ceni's first in management, after handing up his boots at the club following a stint from 1992 until 2015.

Sao Paulo currently sit in eleventh spot in Brazil's Serie A, the current edition of which ends later this month.
