Tom Boyd is of the opinion that new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has had a huge impact on the Hoops players playing better in the present campaign.

The Scottish champions, who appointed Rodgers as their new manager in the summer in place of Ronny Deila, are yet to lose a domestic game this season.

Celtic presently find themselves eight points clear at the top of the league with three games in hand and have already won the Scottish League Cup.

The likes of Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong, who struggled for consistency last season, have been in great form in the ongoing campaign.

And former Celtic defender Boyd thinks the players performing better this term is due to Rodgers’ impact at Paradise.

“That’s without a question”, he told Celtic TV, when asked if he thinks Rodgers is the reason behind the players faring better this season.

“The difference between so many players who have played last season, they seem to be playing with a lot more freedom, a lot of confidence [this season].

“You know the examples of Scott Brown, captain, and Stuart Armstrong as well.

“The difference in players to name but a few, and there are quite a few in that category who have upped their level.

“And I certainly think it’s an impact of the manager.”

While Brown has thus far amassed 29 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring twice and setting up one goal, Armstrong has so far netted six times and provided four assists in 23 games in the ongoing campaign.
