The race to secure Julian Draxler's signature is heating up after Paris Saint-Germain started talks with the attacking midfielder's agent, while Mesut Ozil is seeking to convince his countryman that Arsenal is the right destination.

Draxler is unhappy at current club Wolfsburg and wants to leave. He was also keen to leave the Wolves in the summer, but saw any departure blocked, a position which has now changed as the Bundesliga club prepare to offload him next month.

Arsenal, PSG and Juventus are all keen on the 23-year-old, but it is the French champions who have hit the lead after they opened talks with Draxler's agent, according to French radio station RMC.

PSG are minded to offer €30m for Draxler, however Wolfsburg are looking for €40m.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder and Germany international Ozil has been seeking to convince Draxler that a switch to the Emirates Stadium would be the perfect next step in his career.

Arsenal are expected to put in their own offer for Draxler, with the amount suggested €35m.

Juventus are also keeping tabs on the situation and could yet move to try and tempt the attacking midfielder to Turin.

Should PSG snap up Draxler from Wolfsburg, it is claimed it could spell the end of Jese Rodriguez's time at the club.

The forward joined PSG from Real Madrid in the summer, but has struggled for playing time at the Parc des Princes.
