Christian Eriksen has lavished praise on Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg and tipped him to become a future mainstay for the Denmark national team.

Eriksen came through the ranks at Dutch club Ajax, making his name at the Amsterdam ArenA and eventually earning a big-money move to Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, where he has continued to flourish.

Ajax's youth set-up is still producing the goods and countryman Dolberg is the latest off the production line, with the striker already having impressed enough to be linked with Everton and Manchester City, while he has also made his Denmark debut.

Eriksen has played with Dolberg while on international duty and says it quickly became apparent that the striker is a class act.

"I have met Kasper once, but saw right away that he can play football", Eriksen told EFL Voetbal magazine.

"He does not make unnecessary mistakes and has an unnerving sense of where the ball is going to go", the Spurs star continued.

"The great thing was that Kasper had only one thing in mind for 15 minutes when he made his debut [for Denmark] against Kazakhstan: scoring.

"He had to score! It's like that with a striker with confidence."

Asked if Dolberg is set for a bright future, Eriksen replied: "Certainly. Certainly!

"That's good news for Ajax and good news for Denmark.

Dolberg has just one senior Denmark cap to his name so far, having earned it in November when he came off the bench in the second half against Kazakhstan, in a game the Danes won 4-1.

In the current campaign the 19-year-old has turned out 25 times for Ajax in all competitions, scoring eleven goals.

He could soon be facing Eriksen in the Premier League if Everton or Manchester City push forward with their interest.
