Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has stamped on speculation over Eric Dier's future at the club after a 3-0 win over Hull, insisting the defender is committed to Spurs.

Tottenham thrashed Hull in Wednesday’s encounter at White Hart Lane. Pochettino made a change in the formation for his side’s game against the Tigers.

The manager switched to a 3-4-2-1 system against Hull, which allowed Dier to play alongside Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.

The three centre-backs gave the full-backs the freedom to go forward more and it proved to be beneficial for Tottenham. Both Danny Rose and Kyle Walker provided Christian Eriksen with an assist each.

Post-match, Spurs boss Pochettino was asked about speculation linking Dier with Bayern Munich and Chelsea and whether he is keen to keep the player, to which he replied: “There is no doubt about that [wanting to keep Dier]”.

“I know there are a lot of rumours, but 100 per cent he is our player.”

“He is a player that is important for us and the future”, Pochettino added.

The Argentine also stressed that Dier was handed an improved contract after Euro 2016 in the summer and said: “He is still under contract and improved his salary after the Euros, he signed and showed his commitment with the club.

"I see no doubt that his future is at White Hart Lane.”

Dier has impressed with his ability to play both as a holding midfielder and as a centre-back, establishing himself as a vital player for both Spurs and England.
