Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers' feels his side's 2-1 home win over Dundee on Saturday afternoon turned into a game of basketball at points.

The Bhoys needed to wait until first half injury time to take the lead when Leigh Griffiths made no mistake from a free-kick, hitting a spectacular strike which sent the home side in 1-0 up at the break.

Celtic appeared to have killed off Dundee in the 57th minute when Nir Bitton scored with a well placed curled shot, making it 2-0 to Rodgers' side.

But Dundee came back into the match with former Crewe Alexandra striker Marcus Haber scoring in the 69th minute.

Dundee could then have levelled, but Faisal El Bakhtaoui missed a good chance as Celtic clung on to claim all three points and move back to an eleven-point lead over second placed Rangers in the Premiership table.

Rodgers was pleased with his side's display in general, but feels when the second goal was scored his men lost their discipline as they looked to breach the Dundee backline again.

"The overall performance I was pleased with. It wasn't perfect, that's for sure", Rodgers said on BBC Radio Scotland.

"It's very difficult playing against a team with everyone behind the ball, but first first half we played some good, sharp passing.

"After we go 2-0 up maybe the players think they can score a few more and we lose our shape and it turns into a game of basketball.

"I'm happy with large spells of the game", the Celtic manager added.
