Rangers target Jota has confirmed he has returned to Brentford and cannot wait to get started, appearing to end any chance of a switch to Ibrox.

The Spanish schemer was mooted to be a key target for Gers boss Mark Warburton, who previously worked with him at Griffin Park and is eyeing strengthening his squad in the current transfer window.




But Jota has signalled his future lies at Brentford after taking to Twitter to write: "Very thrilled about this new time in Brentford.

"Looking forward to getting started!!!"
 


Jota had been on loan back in Spain with Eibar, but fell our of favour this season and had been struggling for regular game time.

Now he has returned to parent club Brentford and will be hoping to shine for the Bees during the second half of the campaign.

The Bees currently sit in 15th spot in the Championship table after taking 30 points from their opening 24 games.

Brentford are next in action on Monday when they head to take on Birmingham City

Rangers boss Warburton meanwhile will have to focus on other targets.
