Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is confident that his players won’t be thinking about setting up a new winning run record when they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are currently on a club record winning run of 13 league games and another win at White Hart Lane over Tottenham will set a new Premier League record.




Arsenal previously held the record for winning most number of games on the trot in the Premier League and Chelsea have the opportunity to break their record in north London.

However, Conte has insisted that his players will only be thinking about getting three more points on the board rather than worrying about breaking or setting up new records.
 


When asked whether the new record is in his players’ heads, the Chelsea boss said in a press conference: “No.

“The players want to win and take three points; the record will be a great achievement, but in 13 wins a row we took 39 points.

“The other situations are not important for us.”

Chelsea are currently leading Liverpool in second place by five points and will be looking to stretch their lead at the top at White Hart Lane.
