Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout, who is on loan at Saint-Etienne, says he is in the dark over talk Italian champions Juventus want him.

Veretout is currently in the middle of a season-long loan back in his homeland after jumping ship following Aston Villa's relegation from the Premier League last season.

He has wasted no time in nailing down a regular starting spot with Les Verts and has clocked up 16 Ligue 1 appearances so far in the current campaign.

Juventus have been said to be keen on the 23-year-old, but Veretout admits news he is wanted by the Italian Serie A giants is something he has not heard.

He told French daily Le Progres: "I'm not familiar at all [with that].

"It's news to me", Veretout added.

Speculation over a move to Juventus for the midfielder was even commented on by Villa owner Dr Tony Xia, who admitted the club are prepared to let Veretout leave.

Veretout's Saint-Etienne currently sit in eighth spot in Ligue 1 and have a last 32 Europa League date with Manchester United to look forward to next month.
