Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin says the Blues will have someone special on their hands if Kurt Zouma comes back as good as he was before he got injured.

The French defender has been out since picking up a cruciate ligament injury back in February last year, having missed the entire first half of this season.

However, the youngster has now recovered match fitness and has been on the bench for a number of Premier League matches since mid-December, though he has failed to feature in any of them.

Nevin is optimistic that if Zouma can come back with that kind of form which he had shown prior to being injured then he could turn out to be something special for the Blues to call on.

"If he comes back the player he was before he went out injured then we have somebody extra special", Nevin told Chelsea TV.

"Don't forget Kenedy", Nevin said.

"He can play that left wing-back position."

The youngster, who signed from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2015, has played a total of 14 Premier League games for Chelsea thus far.
