Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to see new signing Gabriel Jesus bring his form from South America to the Premier League.

The 19-year-old, who signed for the Citizens for a fee of £27m in August, remained at Palmeiras until December, but has joined his new team and is training after going through two individual sessions.

The Spanish manager insists that it is a pleasure for him to welcome Gabriel in the team and the task for him now will be to settle down and work hard to adapt to life at Manchester City.

"Gabriel Jesus has arrived, he’s made two training sessions. This afternoon he will have the first training session with the team", Guardiola said at a press conference.

Gabriel scored 13 goals in 20 Brazilian Serie A games last year, while at international level he has netted five goals in six senior caps for Brazil.

And Guardiola is hoping to see the 19-year-old reproduce the same clinical form in front of goal in England.

"Hopefully he can do what he’s done with the national team in Brazil and his old club."

Manchester City's next match will be against West Ham in the FA Cup on Friday.
