Tottenham Hotspur starlet Harry Winks feels manager Mauricio Pochettino trusts him, after coming off the bench during his side’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday.

Pochettino called off Mousa Dembele and replaced the Belgian with Winks with 16 minutes remaining on the clock during his side’s game against the Blues.

The youngster has been given plenty of chances by the Spurs boss this season and he was on target during his first Premier League start against West Ham in November.

Winks, who has come through the youth ranks at Tottenham, said he is happy to be involved with the team and stressed he will work hard to keep getting more playing time.

“For me personally, it’s brilliant”, Winks told the club’s official website.

“It shows that the manager trusts me which is obviously what I want.

“I’m loving it at the moment!”, added the 20-year-old.

Winks said he will redouble his efforts to get regular games and explained: “To be as involved as I am now is something I could only have dreamed of at the beginning of the season and for it now to be a reality is brilliant but I want it to keep happening and the only way that’s going to happen is if I keep my head down and keep working hard.”

The midfielder has made 19 appearances for Spurs this season in all competitions, which also includes four Champions League appearances.

He will be hoping to be in the starting eleven when Tottenham kick-off their FA Cup campaign against Aston Villa on Sunday.
