Lille right-back Sebastien Corchia says he would be delighted if his club signed Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool this month.

Sakho has been firmly frozen out of the first team picture at Anfield and is expected to depart Liverpool in the current transfer window as he looks to get his career back on track.

No less than eleven clubs have been in touch with Sakho's representatives to register their interest in the centre-back and Lille are thought to be amongst the group.

And Corchia admits that if Sakho does land at Lille this month then he would be delighted as he rates the former Paris Saint-Germain star highly.

"Of course I would welcome him at Lille", the right-back said on French TV programme Telefoot.

"Also, he is a super guy – I know him well.

"I find him very tough", Corchia added.

Sakho is thought to have interest from clubs in the Premier League, France and Spain, where Sevilla are mooted to be keen to offer the defender a home.

Liverpool splashed out a substantial £18m to sign Sakho from PSG in 2013.
