Rangers would represent a good move for Jon Toral, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels.

Toral is currently on loan at Spanish side Granada and was on the bench on Saturday when his side took on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu; Real Madrid ran out comfortable 5-0 winners with goals from Isco (two), Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro.

Arsenal are looking to terminate Toral's loan in Spain and send him to Mark Warburton's Rangers, having previously had a good experience with the Scottish club, as Gedion Zelalem spent time on loan at Ibrox last term and featured regularly.

As such, Wenger has given his backing to the move, should it happen.

Asked at a press conference after Arsenal's win over Preston North End in the FA Cup whether a move to Rangers would be good for Toral, Wenger replied: "Yes, because he has played games there [for Granada], but at the moment he doesn’t play.

Rangers boss Warburton is desperate to enhance his midfield options after losing his two big-name midfield signings.

Warburton signed Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar in the summer, but Barton left the club by mutual consent after falling out with the former Brentford manager, while Kranjcar is out for the rest of the season injured.
