Former Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes Mauricio Pochettino has changed the mentality at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham’s stopped the Chelsea juggernaut last week when they ended their run of 13 straight league victories with a 2-0 win to again open up the title race.

Spurs have moved ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal in the league table and have climbed up to third, seven points off Chelsea at the top of the Premier League at the moment.

A much changed Tottenham side also scored a comfortable 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday to move into the fourth round of the FA Cup and Jenas admits that the current Spurs side look a different beast.

The former midfielder has pointed out that Tottenham have already shown that they can live with the top teams in the league and feels Pochettino just needs to deliver a trophy now at White Hart Lane.

Jenas said on BBC One: “This year Tottenham have taken Manchester City to the cleaners, beaten Chelsea and were the better team against Manchester United for 60 minutes.

“A trophy is the obvious thing they are missing.

"The big thing Mauricio Pochettino has changed is the mentality.

“It's about delivering it now.”

Tottenham came close to winning the league title last season, but a poor run of results towards the end resulted in them finishing third in the table.
