Federico Fazio's agent says that he does not know whether Roma and Tottenham Hotspur have held talks over his client moving to the Giallorossi permanently, but stressed the defender is happy in the Italian capital.

The centre-back is on a season-long loan deal at Roma from Spurs and the Serie A giants have a purchase option included in the deal which can be activated if Fazio impresses.

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is pleased with Fazio's displays at the club, but the player's agent says he does not know if the Giallorossi have spoken to Spurs over keeping his client yet.

"I do not know if the clubs have already talked about this possibility", Salva Sanchez told Italian outlet La Roma 24.

"It is true that Fazio is proving, game after game, to be a very important player for Roma, match after match", he continued.

"Not with me at least [there hasn’t been contact with the clubs over a deal]. The two clubs must decide. Now is not the time to talk about these things. There will be time."

And the agent feels it should be a clear enough process for Roma to keep Fazio if they wish to.

"I do not know, [if reaching an agreement with be easy, but] Roma have a right of redemption and if they want to exercise it they will do."

Fazio has wasted little time in nailing down a regular first team spot in Italy and has made 18 appearances in Serie A for the Giallorossi so far, only missing one match; he was on the bench against Sampdoria.

The centre-back joined Spurs from Spanish outfit Sevilla, but failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane.

Roma have conceded just 18 goals in their 19 Serie A matches.
