Everton have had a bid for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Franck Kessie turned down by Atalanta, while Chelsea remain in talks to win the race for the midfielder's signature.

Both Liverpool and Spurs have reportedly made offers for Kessie, who Atalanta have been firm about not selling in the current transfer window as they aim not to weaken their squad.

Now Everton have tried their luck as, according to Sky Italia, the Toffees have been in touch with Atalanta to put £15m on the table for the Ivory Coast international.

Atalanta though have wasted no time in knocking back Everton's proposal and will only think about a sale in June.

Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to hold talks with Atalanta over Kessie as they work overtime to persuade the Serie A side to sell to them.

Kessie has turned heads with his performances in the Italian top flight with Atalanta this season and now has several of the Premier League's biggest clubs slugging it out for his signature.

Still just 20 years old, Kessie has made 16 appearances in Serie A for Atalanta this season so far, scoring six goals in the process.

It remains to be seen if Atalanta stick to their no-sale stance this month.
