Leeds United manager Garry Monk is confident that the club hierarchy will put their best foot forward in order to get the players he wants in January.

The Whites secured the permanent signing of Pablo Hernandez yesterday and the Leeds boss has talked about making couple of additions in the winter window in order to help his squad push for a promotion spot.

The Yorkshire giants are yet to secure a new signing in the winter window, but Monk remains quietly confident about the club will get the business done for him this month.

The Leeds manager explained the hard work the club put in to bring eleven new faces to Elland Road in the summer and is confident that they will put in the same effort in during January too.

Monk told BBC Radio Leeds: “The club know what I want and how I think the squad could be helped and strengthened.

“Like I said, as it was in the summer, they worked extremely hard behind the scenes to get those things that were suggested done.

“And I am sure they will be the same in January.”

Following beating Cambridge United in the third round of the FA Cup, Leeds will host Derby County in a Championship clash on Friday night at Elland Road.
