Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicollin has shut the door on a move away from the club this month for Ryad Boudebouz, who has been the subject of interest from Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio, amongst others.

Boudebouz had been tipped to move on from the Stade de la Mosson in the current transfer window given the level of interest in securing his services.

But the Ligue 1 club are determined to hold on to the creative midfielder until at least the end of the season, especially given his superb form this term.

Nicollin, asked about Boudebouz leaving this month, said on French radio station RMC: "With Ryad Boudebouz and his agent it is all put on hold until June.

"He is fine with us, he's exploding", he added.

Boudebouz has established himself as a key man at Montpellier and has scored seven goals in just 16 Ligue 1 games for this club this season.

Still just 26 years old, the midfielder joined Montpellier on a four-year contract from Bastia in 2015.

He had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League early in his career, when he burst onto the scene at his first club in the professional game, Sochaux.
