Roma have reopened talks with Chelsea and Charly Musonda’s advisers over a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico during the January transfer window.

The young Belgian midfielder returned to Chelsea this month after struggling to get game time during his loan spell at Real Betis and is open to a move to Italy in January.

The Belgian has been on Roma’s radar for some time, but the club were trying sign Sofiane Feghouli from West Ham this month. However, the Hammers have rejected their loan plus purchase option.

While the Giallorossi have not completely lost hope of getting the Algerian, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, they have shifted their focus towards Musonda for the time being.

They have resumed talks with Chelsea and the Belgian’s advisers over a loan move to Roma until the end of the season and are hoping to reach an agreement.
