Arsenal and Liverpool have both made contact with Ligue 1 side Monaco over signing Tiemoue Bakayoko in this month's transfer window, but have been left disappointed.

Bakayoko is turning heads with his performaces for the principality side and has already attracted the attention of Chelsea and Manchester City, while Jose Mourinho, who first spotted he young defensive midfielder while in charge at Stamford Bridge, has Manchester United alive to developments.




But two clubs have gone a step further than simply monitoring the Monaco man – Arsenal and Liverpool.

Indeed, according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Arsenal and Liverpool have both been in contact with Monaco to request a price to buy Bakayoko in the current transfer window.
 


However, Monaco have informed the Premier League pair that they consider it unthinkable to sell the midfielder this month.

Monaco are firm that Bakayoko is going nowhere, postponing a potential transfer tussle for the 22-year-old.

Bakayoko joined the Stade Louis II outfit from Rennes in 2014, making his debut in Ligue 1 for the club against Lorient.

He has made 27 appearances for Monaco so far this term.
