Liverpool have enquired about the possibility of signing Juventus loanee Francesco Cassata and are ready to make an offer for the Italy Under-20 international this month.

A product of the Empoli academy, the youngster joined Juventus in 2015 and was loaned out to Ascoli last summer for the rest of the season.




The 19-year-old midfielder has been a regular for Ascoli in the second tier of Italian football and has impressed with his performances, leading to interest from other clubs.

Liverpool have been keeping a close watch on Cassata and according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, they have enquired about the possibility of signing the youngster from Juventus.
 


The Reds are ready to move forward with an offer and are prepared to slap in a bid of around €10m for the Italy Under-20 international during the January transfer window.

While the two clubs are yet to start negotiations over a deal, Liverpool are keen to snare the young Italian away from Juventus as they continue to look to add fresh talent to their squad.

It remains to be seen whether Juventus agree to sell one of the more promising midfielders on their books to Liverpool or look to ward off interest in Cassata for the time being.

He has a contract until the end of next season with the Italian champions.
