Arsenal are ready to rekindle their interest in Spain international striker Alvaro Morata, it has been claimed.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has long been a big fan of Morata and Arsenal were linked with trying to sign the striker last summer, when Real Madrid activated a buy-back clause to snap him up from Juventus.

Real Madrid were expected to quickly sell Morata on, but they kept hold of the striker, who has made 22 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos this season, scoring nine goals.

Now, with the transfer window back open, Arsenal are again interested, according to OK Diario, though they face a battle to convince Real Madrid to part with the striker.

There have been indications recently that Wenger is looking to bring in another striker and Arsenal were linked with bidding for Torino hitman Andrea Belotti.

However, the Serie A side will not allow Belotti to depart for under his €100m release clause, something which appears to have put Arsenal's interest on ice.

Morata is under contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2021.
