Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson is expecting another spicy encounter against Leeds United on Friday night, with the two clubs' respective league positions making for a fascinating game.

The Rams will be visiting Elland Road on Friday to take on Garry Monk’s men in their next Championship match.

The two sides have already met this season, with the game at the iPro Stadium ending in a 1-0 victory for Steve McClaren’s men – and it was a hard fought affair.

Derby lost their last Championship game against Norwich City, played earlier this month, but Bryson believes that his side will be up for the match against Leeds, as both clubs are looking to strengthen their position in the league table.

At present Derby are seventh on 40 points, while Leeds are fifth on 45 points.

"There’s always an extra bit of spice in the games when we play Leeds”, Bryson told Rams TV.

“On top of that, the teams are in pretty good positions in the league and it makes for a very interesting game”, added the 30-year-old.

Bryson has made 22 appearances for the Rams this season in all competitions and also has one assist to his name.

Derby won their FA Cup tie against Premier League side West Brom, 2-1, last Saturday and will head to Elland Road full of confidence.
