Former Leeds United winger Eddie Gray feels every league game is of huge importance for the promotion chasing Whites until the end of the season.

Currently fifth in the Championship table, Leeds booked their berth in the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier this week with a close win over Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium.

The Whites have a big league game against Derby County on Friday evening at Elland Road and Gray feels it is a good opportunity for Garry Monk and his men to further consolidate their place in the Championship’s top six.

The Leeds legend told LUTV: “It’s a big game.

“Looking at the position Derby are in and looking at our position, it gives us an opportunity to just get away from them in seventh place and cement your place in that top six.”

Gray admits that Friday night's clash is a big game, but feels every game will be huge for Leeds for the rest of the season and wants Monk and his players to approach each encounter with the same dedication and steadfast nature.

“Every game we play now until the end of the season will be a huge game and I think that’s how Garry and the players will look at it that away.

“Take every game on its merits and they will have to go and perform at the highest level possible every game.”

Leeds are currently on an unbeaten run of six games and have won five of those encounters, just dropping points at Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw last month.
