Marseille are ready to increase their offer for disgruntled West Ham star Dimitri Payet in order to take him back to France in the current transfer window.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic dropped a bombshell on Thursday when he revealed that the 29-year-old Frenchman does not want to play for the club anymore and wants to leave the London Stadium.

Payet has been banished from the first team mix and will not be involved in the squad against Crystal Palace this weekend, with Bilic suspecting that clubs have been trying to tap him up since the start of the current transfer window.

Marseille have been keen to take the player, whom they sold to West Ham in 2015 for a fee of €15m, back to France in the current transfer window and have already slapped in a bid for the playmaker, who has already reached a personal agreement with the club.

West Ham have rejected their €22m plus €3m offer for the Frenchman, but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the club are ready to fork out more money for the 29-year-old.

Marseille were aware that their first bid would not get the Hammers thinking and are willing to up the ante as they look to take Payet back to the Stade Velodrome this month.

Bilic has made it clear that West Ham won’t be selling Payet in the winter window and the club seem to have tightened their resolve to keep their star man at all costs despite the player wanting to leave.

Payet is one of the top paid players at West Ham and has a contract until 2021 with the club.
